Whilst this is not really recent News, here is an Update on our current EBA Project Workers:
We were very sad to have to say goodbye to Mary Pengelly, Sue Dobson and Chris Tout who, over the last year or so have decided to “hang up their boots” after years of dedicated and excellent service to EBA. We have however been fortunate to recruit Chris Rust who has taken on the role of Projects and Funding Officer (Chris has actually been in post since June 2021, taking over from Mary) and more recently Martin Crisp who has taken over from Sue Dobson. Both have hit the ground running and are enthusiastic and keen to make a difference.
Here is some information about both Chris and Martin. Contact details for each are as follows:
Chris Rust: Project and Funding Officer: email:ebaprojectmanager@gmail.com or phone: 07849 029632
About Chris: I joined Essex Bridleways Association in June, 2021 as the Projects and Funding Officer. I also volunteer for Colchester Garrison Riding for the Disabled Group and am now a qualified Coach.
My new role with Essex Bridleways Association (EBA) gives me the chance to work with people with whom I am very familiar, namely the horse riding community. I have ridden since the age of 3, keeping and competing my own horses and ponies since the age of 12. With my daughter Immi I own a Connemara mare, Welsh Cob Section D gelding, and during lockdown we bred a sports horse filly.
My role entails looking at maintenance issues in general and seeking solutions. I am also looking at ways we can attract funding for specific projects. Problems may be reported by local representatives of EBA or other persons/partner organisations. I am passionate about access for all to outside green spaces which we all know has such a benefit for general health and mental wellbeing, whether that be on horseback, by carriage, on foot or by bicycle. There should be room for us all to co-exist safely. nd enjoyable access to the countryside, and I am committed to playing my part to the best of my ability.
